Nag champa incense sticks9/21/2023 This highly popular scent includes halmaddi, a soft tree resin, or others such as pine or cedar, that help give the incense a slow and pleasurable burn. Resins, gums, essential oils from various flowers, and different blends of natural scents such as lavender, vanilla, cardamom, cinnamon, saffron, black pepper and sometimes even strawberry, are blended into the mixture of Nag Champa Incense that is not only made into incense but also oils, candles, soaps and lotions. This yellow flower was originally used as a hair and body perfume, and as the main ingredient in fragrant oils made in India and Nepal, much like the nag champa oils still made today. Next comes the tree-born champa flower and its fresh, sweet and delicate plumeria scent. Considered one of the most popular incense scents, the various blends of nag champa almost always have a base component of the alluring and sacred sandalwood. Many of us who appreciate natural fragrances and aromatherapy have heard about nag champa Incense after it was subtly, or maybe not exactly subtly, introduced to the West from India and Nepal by the hippies of the 1960s. Its aroma will transport you to the spiritually elevated surroundings of tranquil Buddhist and Hindu monasteries where generations of renunciates have blended secret mixtures of this calming floral aroma. Want to enhance your meditation and create a sacred atmosphere in your own home? We know just what to do … burn nag champa incense. I dunno games9/21/2023 The multiple endings are both good and bad, though. My favorite is "warrior" because it pretty much goes along with the buttload of ZeLinkness that game threw at us. The ending shows the lives of Link and Zelda after the fight with Malladus and its a cute ending. Long story short, my favorite is the "Warrior" ending. One question is, what happened to Link? What was Zelda thinking when she stopped for that brief moment? Will they ever meet again? I wan to know these things. Though I do not like this one, the beauty of this particular ending gives our imaginations some work to do. Then she goes back to signing her papers. What we see in this one is Zelda, in her room, signing papers, like in the other endings, and she stops and stares blankly. This one has got to be my favorite.ĭunno: I dislike this one. This one also shows what happened to the both of them after the fight of Malladus, and they are still together. Zelda runs to the window and we hear Link grunt in pain, as Zelda looks away. Warrior: Perhaps the cutest ending in the game, we see Zelda in her room and then we hear the clanging of swords. I liked this one because it at least shows what has happened to both Zelda and Link after the fight with Malladus. Zelda rushes to the window to see the Link's train go by. We see Zelda in her room and all of a sudden we hear a train whistle. Today (March 26, 2010) I recently played Spirit Tracks to see the other endings, and here are my opinions:Įngineer: I chose this one first because it was Link's dream to be an engineer. There are three ending scenes, "Engineer", "Warrior", and "Dunno". Well, I was looking through the pages of the Spirit Tracks forum and I haven't noticed any of the threads discussing peoples' favorite ending scene. The posts in this thread will contain spoilers. Are ac delco spark plugs pre gapped9/20/2023 It is always best to check the gap against the manufacturer’s specifications. The incorrect plug gap for your engine can contribute to a high rate of misfires, loss of power, plug fouling, poor fuel economy and accelerated plug wear. What will happen if spark plug gap is wrong? Even with small variations in the factory set gap the ultra-efficient firing power design will compensate for those small variations. In most cases your Iridium Power plugs do not need to be gapped. For BMWs with V8, V10, or N54 or N63 engines, 37000 miles are the threshold before getting new spark plugs. In most modern BMWs, manufactured after 2010 with the N20 or N55 engines, it is required to change spark plugs every 60,000 miles. When should spark plugs be replaced on BMW X3?Įvery 60,000 Miles Your first 60,000 miles is a significant milestone that will require you to replace several important components, including your engine’s spark plugs, transmission fluid, and tires. In the future I will probably still buy Rapidfires but from now on will look at both the box and the plugs inside to make sure they are the "new improved" version. Note that the original Rapidfire was presented as a "Performance Spark Plug" (see fig 1.) Can see using up supplies but over two years later ?Įven more surprising was the new admonition on the box to regap the plugs Consequently I was surprised when the #14s came in two different boxes (plugs were all "new style" and according the AC Delco this meant they were all platinum). Well according to AC Delco any plug with the new tip (as on the right in figure 2) was the redesigned platinum plug. The change took place in late 2001 so in April 2004, you would think that all the plugs had changed. Had noticed the different electrode when I bought the #14s and so checked the ones coming out. Did not notice at the time because they were "pregapped" so did not require checking. The new design, which contains a tapered and columned center electrode with a platinum pad, continues to promote lower demand voltage and extends the life of the spark plug over conventional plugs."Įvidently when I replaced my plugs the previous time there were 3 oldstyle and 3 new style Rapidfires. ACDelco added a platinum tip to its RAPIDFIRE Spark Plug line, giving it longer life. The latter is important since as of, the AC DELCO web page still said "Per package directions, ACDelco does not recommend changing the gap because the RAPIDFIRE plug comes pre-gapped." No longer. Two things to note about the box: First the "tapered splined" electrode blurb and second the bit about "DO NOT REGAP". The plugs were introduced with a serrated electrode that was said to be the greatest thing since sliced bread - better MPG, smooter idle, more power, just like the Fish Carburator - and was quietly dropped a few years later. That said, in recent years GM has adopted the Microsoft technique of making signitficant changes to a part wihout bothering to tell anyone. Have used them on several cars without any problems. Waffle cookies9/20/2023 Transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely. If they crumble, it's likely they need to cook a bit longer. The tops should feel crisp and the cookies should easily pop out of the iron without crumbling. Close the waffle iron and cook through, about 1 1/2-3 minutes depending on your iron. Brush it with coconut oil to prevent sticking and spoon 1 cookie dough scoop (approximately 1 heaping tablespoon) of cookie dough onto the center of each waffle iron square. Mix until combined, then fold in the chocolate chips. Pour in the melted chocolate mixture, then sift in the flour, cacao powder, cinnamon, and salt. Mix on medium speed for 5 minutes, or until the sugar mostly dissolves. In the bowl of a stand mixer, add the prepared flax egg, coconut sugar, and vanilla. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the chopped chocolate with the coconut oil, stirring constantly.Combine the ground flax and warm water and set it aside for 3-5 minutes to thicken. If we ever decide to open our own vegan bakery, these deceptively easy yet satisfying triple chocolate waffle cookies will definitely be on the menu. Aaron says they remind him of the chocolate cookies from his favorite bakery, Flour, which is perhaps the highest compliment any baked good can receive. They taste like cookie meets brownie in a mini waffle shape, with crispy edges all around and a softer, fudge-like center. To remedy that, I just kept adding more and more (and more) chocolate, and the end result surpassed even my already high expectations. Not only do these cookies bake up in two minutes, but they are intensely chocolate-y, rich, dense, and dark. A lot of people complain that most taste more like waffles than cookies, which seems like a bit of a miss to me. For some reason as soon as I pulled the waffle iron out of the cabinet, my mind went to cookies, and after a bit of research, I realized waffle cookies are sort of a thing. I first had the idea for these vegan chocolate waffle cookies a few weeks back when I was looking through our kitchen and trying to decide which gadgets we’d be taking with us and which we’d pack away. There can be such promise and joy in not knowing. How exciting to try out different ways of living instead of our usual routines, to live for the experiences instead of the destinations. What we do know is that this adventure has the potential to be life-changing, and that’s exactly the point. We leave Boston for our year of travel in a week and a half, having a rough idea of the places we’ll visit and where we’ll crash at night, but otherwise not knowing what’s to come. What I wanted - something I’d fantasized about for years, in fact - was to stop living in front of a screen and live in that screen, in the photo on my computer. “I let my hands idle too long and the screensaver, a stock photo of a tropical scene, popped up. It can pull us from being present in the moment, from slowing down, from getting out, from seeing and doing. For all of the amazing things technology brings to our lives, it can also make us feel really isolated, anxious, and disconnected. I felt this deeply until a little less than two years ago when I left my job to completely switch gears, and Aaron started to feel it late last year, when he realized he was spending his days staring at screens. “If you’re constantly thinking you need a vacation, maybe what you really need is a new life.” She was in her early 30s, employed as a journalist and living in a trendy neighborhood with everything at her fingertips, and yet she spent most of her time working to afford to live there, didn’t see her friends often, and felt lonely in a city packed tightly with millions of other people. She wrote: Yesterday I read an article about a woman who decided to leave a nearly six figure job in Manhattan to move to a small Caribbean island and scoop ice cream. Edgar allan poes lighthouse keeper9/20/2023 No explanation of his incompetence is given, and as the keeper belittles his naysayers’ disapproval in his journal, within the same entry he effectively substantiates their misgivings when he begins to hear echoes in the walls. De Grät advised him to keep a diary, implying his own concern over his friend’s emotional wellbeing. Would to Heaven I had ever found in “society” one half as much faith as in this poor dog: - in such case I and “society” might never have parted - even for the yearĪ friend named De Grät had secured the position for the lighthouse keeper despite the apparent apprehensions of others who felt he couldn’t handle the job. Neptune, large as he is, is not to be taken into consideration as “society”. His one companion, a canine, causes him to reflect: His outlook wavers, insisting that the solitude won’t bother him, but he then acknowledges that until that moment, he’d never appreciated how bleak the word “alone” happens to be. In the January 1st entry, our protagonist, who took on the desolate post as a lighthouse keeper thinking it a perfect situation to finish a novel, contemplates the remoteness around him. Poe admirers will feel on familiar ground as this brisk piece shares themes from earlier works, though with less of the macabre flair that has fostered his reputation. I’m speaking of the roughly 800 word, untitled (though now commonly referred to as “The Light-House”) manuscript that is presented in diary form beginning on New Year’s Day 1796 and features journal entries for the next couple of days. A last shot, if you will, across the bow that enticingly leaves many questions unanswered. It is these main ingredients of horror-or, more precisely, impending doom-and mystery that fused a minor but intriguing literary coda to his legacy. Rpi netatalk time machine9/20/2023 Instead, you have to add the sparse bundle in Terminal, using the tmutil command. Don’t try adding the host APFS volume instead: all that will happen is that Time Machine will generously offer to reformat it for you in HFS+. But if you try to select the mounted disk in the Time Machine pane, it isn’t offered as an option. It’s only useful when you do a full volume restore anyway: saved document versions aren’t restored with individual documents, or folders of them.Įnsuring that your new and empty sparse bundle is mounted, now is the time to make that the destination for your backups. This folder contains a great many hard links, and in recent releases of Catalina often chokes first full backups, and can cause later problems too. DocumentRevisions-V100 folder at the top level of my Data volume was added to the exclude list. To set this backup in the Time Machine pane, I ensured that the hidden. It’s wise to restart then and verify that this works. Click on the + tool and add the sparse bundle on your APFS volume. Open the Users & Groups pane, and select the Login Items tab. You then have to ensure that sparse bundle is mounted whenever you log in, so that it’s ready for further backups. Save that sparse bundle straight to the APFS volume on which you’re going to store your backups. Let me explain how to solve them by stepping through the process.Ĭreating the sparse bundle in the first place is now very simple with Spundle: set its maximum size, the band size, the file system of HFS+J, and click Create. There are several other problems which I encountered during this journey. So I wrote one, Spundle, to save me having to keep using the command line. No disk image utility that I know of – Disk Utility or C-Command’s excellent DropDMG – gives me a simple way to create a journalled HFS+ sparse image of maximum size 650 GB and maximum band size 350 MB. For a sparse bundle of maximum capacity 650 GB, that required setting the maximum band size to around 350 MB. To improve performance and ensure that my backup sparse bundle wouldn’t suffer any such problems, I wanted to keep the number of bands down to less than 2,000. As the default maximum size of a band is 8.4 MB, a single sparse bundle containing 500 GB would require almost 60,000 bands. Experience with shared storage is that, if the number of bands exceeds about 100,000, then the sparse bundle is likely to malfunction. Sparse bundles store their data in many files, termed bands, in the same folder. But before I could do that, there were several hurdles to overcome. The core of my plan was therefore to get Time Machine to back up to an HFS+ sparse bundle on an APFS volume. One way of hosting a different file system is to use a disk image, in this case a sparse bundle, which has from the first release of Time Machine been used to store backups on shared and networked storage. It would be far more convenient for the whole of that SSD to be in APFS, but because Time Machine backups still rely on directory hard links, which aren’t available in APFS, HFS+ it must remain. But with SSDs the situation is different: for instance, one of my Time Machine backup disks is a 2 TB SSD, on which those backups occupy less than 200 GB. Indeed, because of the poor performance of APFS on hard disks, I’m sure that you’d much prefer to. If you’re still backing up to hard disk, then there’s no problem with continuing to use HFS+. In this article I explain how to avoid that, and keep your Time Machine backups on disks formatted using APFS instead. It’s then a pain having to keep two of those in HFS+ format to cater for Time Machine backups. Like many Mac users, I’ve now phased out the use of hard disks, and although I still have plenty around, all my everyday storage is on SSD. Software for headset sidetalk9/20/2023 We make sure they know what they’re getting into. We’re also are very friendly with everyone we interview. Ultimately, it just comes down to the confidence you go up to groups of people with. So, I started practicing then and just go up to student and teachers. Weimer: Trent, how do you find the courage or confidence to walk up to groups of people with a microphone? What’s your background like before Sidetalk? Simonian: In high school, I was the host and producer of our high school’s TV broadcast. Sometimes, we’ll do something in Times Square but that’s more so because there’s an interesting character there. Weimer: How do you decide where in New York City to shoot? Byrne: We try and make it so the videos are shot at places in New York City that you’re not familiar with from movies. We started to look for individual characters who had interesting personalities, events like Knicks games, and public reactions - like when Andrew Cuomo got kicked out of office. So, we changed the style of the show up a lot. There was really no energy for us to go up and receive from people like we were getting before. After the pandemic hit, we came back and the city was so quiet. When we first started, we were pretty reliant on the host, Trent, to go around and talk to any stranger we could find. Weimer: When you first went out to make videos, was there a type of person or content that you were looking for? Jack Byrne: In the beginning. We both got into NYU, and literally that first week of school, we got the microphone and shot that first video and have been uploading ever since. For a year we had been planning Sidetalk we were ready to go. So, what was the first ever video you two filmed together? Simonian: Our first video we filmed together was Episode 1 of Sidetalk, New York Fashion Week. Jackson Weimer: So the name ‘Sidetalk’ comes from Sidewalk + talk, just want to make sure.
